What is a NOVA Node and what can you do with it?
A NOVA Node is a device that connects you to the decentralized ThreeFold Grid. It provides computing, storage and network capacity to the grid. This allows you to contribute to a sustainable Internet, store your own data securely, protect privacy, generate revenue and use services such as NextCloud.
What is an INCA, what is it worth and how do I earn income with it?
INCA stands for Internet Capacity and represents the amount of capacity your node provides to the ThreeFold Grid. By offering this capacity, you earn rewards in the form of INCA tokens. Similar to the existing TFT tokens from ThreeFold, INCA tokens can be used to make purchases on the ThreeFold Grid, such as storage, compute power, or network capacity.
The value of the INCA token at launch will be announced later and may fluctuate after launch.
How can revenues be guaranteed?
The revenue you receive for creating additional capacity on the grid is guaranteed for a period of 18 months for anyone who buys a NOVA Node now. This guarantee is based on the constant and increasing demand for capacity and computing power within the ThreeFold Grid. What happens after this period is still unknown. In addition, ThreeFold reserves the right to stop offering the guarantee to new buyers at another time. For anyone who has already purchased a NOVA Node, the warranty will of course remain in effect.
What is a farming pool and what happens if my node is offline?
When you purchase a NOVA Node, it automatically becomes part of HostService’s farming pool. A farming pool is a partnership in which multiple node owners combine their capacity. This collaboration is essential to the ThreeFold Grid because it guarantees uptime and ensures that other nodes take over if one node is temporarily down.
For you as an owner, it is important to keep your node online as much as possible. When your node is offline, it directly affects the rewards you receive, both for providing capacity (INCA tokens) and for the network’s use of that capacity (TFT tokens). Prolonged outages can also affect the performance of the farming pool. HostService supports you to keep your node optimally online.
